Cold weather approaches and it’s time for big red wines, heavier hearty food, and huddling at home with company on a weekend night.
This winter I will be making and blogging some classic items that will make winter a little warmer. Some of these are retro classics with an updated recipe. They may sound like what was served at school lunch but any similarity ends there.
They will bring you back to your youth (if you’re my age). This is comfort food with a fancy enough presentation to serve to company. Staying home on a cold winter night is about to look pretty good!
NOTE: The order below is subject to change. Previews of what’s coming next will be published by tweet. To get in on what’s next, follow me @ToneManBlog

- Ham & Split Pea Soup
- Chicken Pot Pie
- Spaghetti & Meatballs
- ToneMan’s Ultimate Mac & Cheese

Unfortunately I ran out of winter before I made all the recipes…at some point I’ll get back to this!
- Beef Stroganoff
- Chicken & Sausage Gumbo
- Lasagna (meat & veggie)
- Greek Pastitsio

As I make them, these items will become links to recipes on the blog. Enjoy!
I do love the falling snow…nice touch. Best, C!
Thank you Cecilia! Happy New Year!
Tony,
Great recipe – thanks! I made it last night and it was delicious, a real crowd pleaser. One question: I love reading the blog with the pictures, but is there a way to print only the text so I have a more manageable version to work with in the kitchen?
Thanks,
Reid
Oops! Posted this in the wrong spot – should have been in the Chicken Pot Pie recipe.
Wow, you jumped right on that Reid! Thank you! Unfortunately I do not know of a way to print the text without the photos. If you receive the email version of my postings, you may be able to delete the photos from your copy of the email and print what remains.
Glad the recipe worked out! I’m sure you did justice to it! Happy New Year.
