X-country road trip Day 9 – final thoughts

Final leg of the journey entering VA and onto Eastern Time.

From Little Rock we drove to Memphis and the Lorraine Hotel, ate some great BBQ and then on to Nashville.

The day begins with a tour of “Black Wall Street” in Tulsa’s Greenwood District. The disturbing story continues to Little Rock.

A morning exploring Santa Fe leads to some classic Rte 66 sites, the Cadillac Ranch and some Amarillo BBQ.

Today was mostly a driving day. We had hoped to visit the Four Corners Monument, the only place in the US where you can get

Today went from Nevada to Arizona to Utah and back to Arizona. We saw Zion National Park and Horseshoe Bend.

In what may turn out to be the most beautiful day of driving, we drove south along the eastern Sierras, and across Death Valley into Nevada.

Our trip began in San Francisco with a quick tour of the city before heading to Yosemite.

Getting to CA to begin our X-Country road trip was an adventure in itself!
